I wanted to put together a collection of my favourite FDT Nerf War footage over the last year since Foam Dart Bunker last August right up to Foam Dart Stadium this June.

Since it’s been a year since Foam Dart Bunker I’ve been reviewing how much we’ve achieved in the last year – we’ve completed 4 Terminal Infection events in that time which is more than I thought we would achieve. To have a successful Stadium event in that time as well is fantastic – as you know we already have our second FDT Stadium event planned in for October, and I’m already speaking to several venues in England about taking the Stadium events down there!

With our first events at both Override skate park in Jarrow, and iCombat in Glasgow, the end of 2018 is going to be amazing.

This Saturday I will be along to Easter Road stadium to hand out promotional flyers before the Hibernian match against Aberdeen. If you see me feel free to stop me for a chat and ask for some FDT stadium stickers 😉

Tickets for Terminal Infection 2 are flying! The first session, “Dawn Patrol” sold out within 30 minutes but there are still some tickets for the “Midnight Session”. See the shop for details.

Both sessions will pit teams of Military versus Scientists just like our August event Foam Dart Bunker, but this time we have the added threat of Zombies! Players from age 8 are welcome, and during the first session we’ll ensure the zombies aren’t too scary, but we’ll ramp up the scare factor on the second session. To be clear, the lights in the mall will stay on, but we will be adding effects to create a great atmosphere in which to Nerf!

Planning has been going on for months now and we’re almost there. As well as the zombie actors and the effects, we’ll have our video crew back and also our event photographer.

This is the final “Main Mission”. Both teams were tasked with solving clues leading them from room to room, while battling it out against eachother in the bunker corridors. They would eventually locate 2 pieces of code that would unlock the safe hidden deep within the bunker. They would have to decide whether to join forces to open the safe and find out what lay within….

This is the second round of Defend The Core. This time around the Military switched to defend the base after making their way through the smoke filled tunnel. Who would prevail before facing off in the legendary last mission? You’ll need to watch the video to see if the Core was breached!

In other news the planning is going well for our big shopping mall event Terminal Infection to be held at Ocean Terminal on Saturday 25th November in Edinburgh. We’ve agreed which production company we are using and visitor tickets (for those from out with the UK) are being agreed. So far we have players travelling in from Denmark and USA!

The final video from Foam Dart Bunker will be live at the same time next week!

This game is called Defend The Core. In this scenario the Military forces attempt to attack and secure the “Core” which was actually the cafeteria within the bunker. But in their way were the gutsy Scientists who didn’t plan to give up without a fight. The Scientists won the outdoor game so got to choose whether to attack or defend. In the second round they would attack the Military position. With music pumping through the whole bunker, and the smoke and light effects, several of the players said this was like being in a movie! We’ll be aiming to create a similar atmosphere at our next big Foam Dart Thunder event – Terminal Infection! Next video same time next week!

In this round it’s the Scientist’s turn to advance deep into Military territory to see if they can progress further than their “enemies” did in the first round. We’ll be carrying over the storyline from this event into out Terminal Infection event in November in Edinburgh. We’re also planning to be back at Scotland’s Secret Bunker next year to complete the storyline! Keep an eye of for details of that!

In this video the Military forces attempt to move barrel’s into the heart of the Scientist’s base. There were 2 rounds played of this game at Foam Dart Bunker, and the whoever won would have a bearing on the first round within the actual bunker itself, though the players weren’t aware of what that bearing was.

We were blessed with nice weather on the night which you can see from the video – which can be an issue with outdoor events n Scotland, even at the tail end of Summer. But it really helped make the event. Keep an eye out soon for Round 2!

The number of sessions is still to be confirmed but we expect a minimum of 100 players (50 v 50) to take part. The number of sessions will depend on how ticket sales go, and for all those asking, tickets will be on sale at the end of September.

Rather than just the usual game of Humans V Zombies we’ll be pitting the 2 teams against eachother with “added Zombie threat” until the last game which will be the more traditional HvZ game that frequent Foam Dart Thunder players and Nerf aficionados are familiar with. Only we’ll have actual Zombies! Furthermore, we’ll be linking this event into the storyline of the Foam Dart Bunker event held in August. Stay tuned for more on that.
